All tuition is fully manual. You'll learn complete clutch and gear control and finish with a full, unrestricted licence that lets you drive both manual and automatic cars.
Newcastle and Gateshead, including Gosforth, Kenton and the West End. Lessons include local pick-up and drop-off. Areas outside this may be possible — just ask.
Lessons are 1.5 to 2 hours, including pick-up and drop-off. Longer sessions mean more time actually driving and faster progress than a single hour.
Standard lessons are £37 per hour. New students get the Fresh Start offer — first 10 hours for £320 (save £50). Existing students can block-book 10 hours for £350.
A valid UK provisional licence, and you must be able to read a number plate at 20 metres (glasses/contacts are fine). Bring your licence to every lesson.
Yes — once I've assessed you as test-ready. Use of the car for your test is arranged in advance and the test-day fee is payable 48 hours before.

Xclusive Driving School operates from Newcastle upon Tyne. Your instructor is a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI), holds a valid ADI certificate displayed in the tuition vehicle, maintains DVSA grading through regular Standards Checks, and complies with the DVSA Code of Practice. The tuition vehicle is fully roadworthy, dual-controlled, taxed, MOT-compliant and insured for tuition.
To receive lessons you must:
Bring your licence to every lesson. Failure to present a valid licence may result in the lesson being charged in full.
You must be free from the influence of alcohol or drugs, well-rested, wear suitable footwear (no high heels, flip-flops or thick soles), and treat your instructor and vehicle with respect. No eating, drinking (except water) or mobile phone use while driving. Your instructor may refuse or end a lesson if you are unfit, and fees will still apply.
Lessons can be booked by phone, text, email or website and are confirmed once acknowledged. Standard lessons are 1–2 hours including pick-up and drop-off within Newcastle upon Tyne and nearby areas. Instructor delays over 15 minutes are credited to your next lesson. Arriving more than 15 minutes late without notice may be treated as a cancellation.
Fees are in GBP. Payment by bank transfer, cash, card (where available) or online. Individual lessons are paid in advance or at the lesson; block bookings and intensive courses are paid in full in advance. Block booking hours are valid for 6 months from purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing; unused hours after 6 months expire with no refund unless an extension is agreed in advance.
Refunds for unused prepaid lessons are available on request within these terms and are processed within 14 days by the original payment method. For discounted block bookings, lessons already taken are first recalculated at the current standard (non-discounted) hourly rate and deducted from the amount paid, with any balance refunded. No refund is given for lessons lost to late cancellation or no-shows. DVSA theory and practical test fees are separate and non-refundable by us.
Your instructor will assess test readiness. Use of the instructor's car for the test is not automatic and requires approval and payment; test-day fees must be paid 48 hours in advance. Test results are determined solely by the DVSA examiner — no pass is guaranteed.
The tuition vehicle is insured for learner tuition during lessons only. You are liable for deliberate, reckless or negligent damage (including tyres and alloy wheels) and any insurance excess arising from such damage. A soilage fee of £75 applies. You are responsible for any fines or penalties caused by your actions. Our liability is limited to fees paid in the previous 12 months, except for death or personal injury caused by negligence. We are not liable for indirect losses, test failures or delays beyond our control.
We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Data may be shared with the DVSA, insurers, law enforcement and payment processors. Training records are kept 4 years and financial records 7 years. You have rights to access, correction, deletion and complaint.
Raise any concerns with your instructor first, then in writing to Xclusive Driving School. We acknowledge within 3 working days and respond within 14 days. You may escalate to the DVSA or seek mediation. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
