Test routes are not a secret — but knowing them properly is the difference between hoping on the day and recognising the road. Every mock test I run is on the roads you'll actually be examined on.

Every practical test ends with a DVSA driving test report. The examiner marks a fault in a box; enough faults and it's a fail.

The aim of every lesson I teach is a sheet that looks like this one — and a fair number of my students get exactly that: first time, zero faults.

Not because they got lucky on the day, but because they'd already driven the route and already knew what each of these boxes is asking of them.

All tuition is fully manual. You'll learn complete clutch and gear control and finish with a full, unrestricted licence that lets you drive both manual and automatic cars.

Newcastle and Gateshead, including Gosforth, Kenton, Jesmond, Heaton, the city centre, Byker, Walker, Fenham, the West End, Newburn, Gateshead, Dunston, Whickham and Low Fell. The postcodes covered are NE1–NE9, NE11, NE15 and NE16 — there's a postcode checker in the Areas section above. Lessons include local pick-up and drop-off. Areas outside this may be possible — just ask.

Lessons are 1.5 to 2 hours, including pick-up and drop-off. Longer sessions mean more time actually driving and faster progress than a single hour.

Standard lessons are £38 per hour. You can also block-book 10 hours for £370, a £10 saving on the hourly rate. Block hours are valid for 6 months.

A valid UK provisional licence, and you must be able to read a number plate at 20 metres (glasses/contacts are fine). Bring your licence to every lesson.

Yes — once I've assessed you as test-ready. Use of the car for your test is arranged in advance and the test-day fee is payable 48 hours before.
